Introduction

The Beethovenstraat-Parnassusweg Association is the neighborhood association for Amsterdam's Prinses Irene neighborhood. The association was set up in 1980, as a response to the construction of the World Trade Center. The Prinses Irene neighborhood is a green neighborhood where many of the homes have front and back gardens and where hedgehogs sometimes still make an appearance. The north side of the neighborhood is flanked by the Zuider Amstel Canal, on the east side by the Beatrix Park and on the south side there is the Zuidas, a large development project, which aims to create a second city center on the south side of Amsterdam. There is a great need to convince the municipality that the unique character of the neighborhood must be preserved. Therefore, we can always use your support.
